Regulatory Reporting Manager
Mal is pioneering a new era in ethical, Sharia-compliant digital banking from our base in Dubai. As we expand our financial services and enhance our regulatory standing, we are seeking a Regulatory Reporting Manager to establish and lead the regulatory reporting function. In this pivotal new position within our Finance department, you will ensure that Mal not only meets, but exceeds, all regulatory requirements, supporting our mission to deliver transparent and compliant financial solutions for Muslims worldwide.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external regulators to design and implement robust reporting frameworks, maintain accurate and timely submissions, and proactively manage regulatory changes relevant to the digital banking sector. This is a unique opportunity to shape a core function within a fast-growing, ethical fintech leader.
- Establish the regulatory reporting framework for Mal, tailored to UAE and cross-border requirements
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate regulatory returns and reports to relevant authorities
- Monitor regulatory developments and proactively update reporting processes in line with new requirements
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Finance, Compliance, Risk) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Coordinate and support regulatory audits and inspections
- Develop internal controls and documentation for all regulatory reporting processes
- Provide regular updates and guidance to management on regulatory risk and reporting obligations
- Complete a regulatory reporting gap analysis and present findings to senior management
- Design the initial regulatory reporting calendar and process documentation
- Submit the first set of regulatory returns for Mal as a neobank
- Train Finance and Compliance teams on data collection and reporting protocols
- Establish relationships with key contacts at regulatory bodies
- Proven experience in regulatory reporting within banking or financial services
- Strong understanding of UAE Central Bank regulations and international reporting standards
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement reporting processes from scratch
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, startup environment
- High ethical standards and commitment to Mal s mission
- Familiarity with Sharia-compliant financial products or Islamic banking
- Exposure to fintech, neobanking, or digital banking environments
- Experience with data analytics and reporting automation tools
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions
- Professional accounting or compliance certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CAMS)
