Responsibilities
- Supervise Sales staff as per sales policy and practice established by the Sales and Marketing, Corporate Sales & Marketing and the hotel.
- Advise management of sales effort progress and bookings.
- Follow, review, and advise the superior on ways to improve the Sales and Marketing Standards and Policy.
- Coach and plan effectively to motivate all sales personnel to achieve departmental and hotel goals.
- Report on confirmed and anticipated bookings for forecasting purposes.
- Meet regularly with hotel department heads to review sales efforts and provide customer feedback.
- liaise with Rooms & Guest Services, Reservation, and Banquet Department.
- Provide directions to all concerned departments regarding incoming groups.
- Direct sales executives to contact potential business leads, controlling key booking dates.
- Resolve booking conflicts based on group importance, revenue potential, and alternate dates.
- Correspond with group contacts.
- Establish departmental procedure from initial call to documentation and follow‑up.
- Oversee training of sales staff.
- Maintain close contact with travel agents, local business groups and airlines.
- Entertain clients as needed.
- Analyze sales results and competition, recommending improvements.
- liaise with concerned departments to ensure operations deliver high quality products to clients.
- Furnish sales monthly reports in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Appraise performance of Sales employees under the supervision periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiate corrective measures.
- Exercise administrative supervision on Sales employees, including personnel requisition, disciplinary actions, promotion and training, and approve leave and overtime requests.
- Check and ensure that jobs assigned to subordinates are completed on time and according to hotel expectations.
- Recommend corrective actions for unfavorable variances in job standards and budget commitments.
- Propose and execute duties to ensure sufficient manpower in accordance with business volume.
- Establish two‑way communication within and between related departments.
- Communicate effectively with guests, subordinates, immediate supervisors and other section heads.
- Attend daily briefing and departmental meetings as assigned by supervisor.
- Manage time effectively by meeting deadlines.
- Identify and solve problems in a professional manner.
- Assist others to ensure the operation runs smoothly and effectively.
- Know, understand, and review the job descriptions of all positions in the department and perform required tasks.
- Understand departmental policies and guide others to perform the job well.
- Recognize and maintain quality products and presentation.
- Check, review, and propose service standards established by the company.
- Provide assistance to employees when required.
- Maintain self and all personnel’s grooming standards.
- Promote the hotel’s environmental programs and other organized programs.
- Manage waste by reducing and recycling, using resources carefully.
- Approve and manage requisition points and par stock of products used by the department.
- Communicate effectively with guests, clients, business partners and staff.
- Be a good sales person to promote the hotel’s image and business.
- Participate in community projects or activities to promote the hotel’s image and improve community relationships.
- Be evaluated according to the performance evaluation program.
- Attend training as required by the company and develop yourself to grow effectively.
- Motivate all employees to grow within the company.
- Report to Director of Marketing or General Manager and EAM in case of GM’s absence.
- Coordinate with all concerned personnel to ensure that all activities are accomplished.
- Interact with clients, guests, government officials, suppliers, and other important individuals in the community to promote the hotel.
- Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing or relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4-5 years sales experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a 5 star class environment.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Result‑oriented with a positive attitude toward challenges and the drive to excel.
- Professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
