Job Description

• In the absence of a Manager, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
• Endeavours to resolve all complaints during shift and logs all complaints in a log book for further follow‑up
• Supervises cash handling and banking procedures
• Prepares daily banking and cash flow reports
• Establishes and instructs staff in cash security procedures
• Deals with irregular payments
• Supervises the maintenance of service equipment
• Monitors standards of guest facilities and services
• Controls stock and monitors security procedures
• Assists with menu and wine list creation
• Supervises functions
• Supervises outlet service
• Works with the Superior on manpower planning and management needs
• Works with the Superior in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget
• Develops a complete knowledge of menu items, their garnish, contents and preparation methods; is ready to answer any guest questions about the menu in a positive and concise way

• Having at least 2 years of experience in a similar position
• Familiarity with the operation and application of the hotel’s computer/data processing system
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and training skills
• Good communication and customer contact skills
• Service orientation with an eye for detail
• Ability to work well in stressful and high‑pressure situations
• A team player and builder
• A motivator and self‑starter
• Well‑presented and professionally groomed at all times
