Assistant Housekeeping Manager

As an Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you are responsible for managing and leading the housekeeping team towards achieving the departmental goals and objectives by ensuring that the standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel meet the standard requirements.

• Plans and prepares the duty roster of Coordinators and Supervisors and makes necessary adjustments whenever required.
• Coordinates availability of rooms with Front Office Manager/ Service Manager.
• Reviews and recommends more effective cleaning methods, materials, and agents
• Together with Housekeeping Supervisors, they conduct daily and random inspections of hotel property, all housekeeping areas, and follow up whenever necessary.
• Make sure that furnishing, facilities, and equipment within the housekeeping areas are maintained in the cleanest possible condition and ensure that repair and maintenance are executed when needed.
• Schedule and supervise all rotational and special cleaning programs as required.
• Checks the arrival list, conference guest list, and VIP list daily and makes sure VIP treatment is taken care of appropriately.
• Carries out departmental induction for all trainees and housekeeping new team members
• Assist the Housekeeping Manager in managing day-to-day staffing requirements, planning, and assigning. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance
• High school diploma or any related certification; a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management is a plus
• Minimum 3 years’ housekeeping supervisory experience
• A high level of written and verbal communication
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills and understanding of business
• Attention to detail, a flexible and hands-on attitude
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
