Performance & Career Development Senior Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and counseling on performance management initiatives; and developing, coordinating, and implementing workforce development and succession planning programs for Khalifa University through consultation and collaboration with Manager, Performance and Career Development.
- Assist with the development and implementation of a University-wide performance appraisal program and provide recommendations to the Manager.
- Coordinate on all matters related to new employees such as initial performance objectives, orientation to position duties, provision for job coach/mentor and/or job training necessary to ensure smooth onboarding strategy and to help the employees to meet performance objectives successfully during probationary period.
- Discuss with employee supervisors regarding their department employees performance report prior to end of probationary period in order to determine success of onboarding training and whether additional or remedial training is needed or otherwise.
- Oversee the annual appraisal process, monitoring compliance with the timetable and working with the Manager to ensure consistency of quality in appraisal documentation.
- Develop and conduct presentations and training on the performance appraisal system and provide training to all levels of staff on performance management and systems.
- Assist with developing and implementing University performance improvement plans.
- Conduct assessments and gap analysis on employee skills and training.
- Work with line Supervisors/Managers on the design and delivery of appropriate and relevant Personal Development Plans for their staff.
- Assess with supervisors the annual performance appraisal ratings in order to determine training and development needs of the team members for the upcoming year.
- Identify on-the-job, online, and other training strategies in order to assist individuals with required knowledge, skills, or abilities.
- Identify internal coaches/mentors in order to facilitate training and development goals of employees includes reviewing training request to ensure that they comply with university policy and procedures and is supported by training and development plan as well.
- Assist with change management initiatives by conducting readiness assessments, job-impact analysis, and skill and capability assessments.
- Coordinate on all matters related to new employees such as initial performance objectives, orientation to position duties, provision for job coach/mentor and/or job training necessary to ensure smooth onboarding strategy and to help the employees to meet performance objectives successfully during probationary period.

- Assist the Manager to implement the succession plans for UAE National employees in accordance with Emiratization policy to ensure that they received appropriate development and to enable them to hold key positions in KU.
- Assist Manager with preparation of training budget and training plans for the University departments
- Adhere to the University s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
- Demonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources or equivalent. Relevant Learning and Development certification is an asset.
- A minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
