Position Overview
New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking an Academic Appointments Partner to support academic strategy and faculty success across its Academic Divisions. Reporting to the Executive Director, Office of Academic Appointments, this role plays a key part in managing academic recruitment, appointments, promotions, tenure, and related processes, ensuring alignment with university policies and strategic objectives.

- Support the Dean of the Academic Divisions on all academic appointments activities and processes.
- Coordinate faculty recruitment, appointments, reappointments, joint appointments, tenure, promotion, sabbaticals, and performance reviews.
- Ensure academic review and appointment processes are completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Provide guidance on academic policies outlined in the NYU Faculty Handbook and NYUAD guidelines.
- Support development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual academic hiring plan and budget.
- Compose, review, and manage distribution of appointment and employment status letters.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for faculty and academic staff.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Payroll, Compensation and Benefits, Office of Research Appointments, and Office of Post Award.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within Workday and related systems.
- Support faculty orientation events and contribute to continuous improvement of academic appointment services.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- More than 3 years of experience delivering client‑focused HR services within a higher education environment.
- Strong understanding of academic HR processes including recruitment, promotion, tenure, and performance management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively across academic and administrative functions in a dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- Hands‑on experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, People Soft, or similar platforms.
- Master's degree is preferred.
