Job Summary
Reports to the Director of Human Resources. Responsible for staff dormitory operations, including ensuring the dormitory is safe and clean and that dormitory policies are followed by employees.
Candidate ProfileEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in human resources, management operations, or related professional area.
- Based on the Dormitory Enrollment Request, assign rooms to staff on check‑in day.
- Check in staff with the Staff Dormitory Check In / Check Out Form and issue linens and keys.
- Upon staff check‑out, complete clearance per the Staff Dormitory Check In / Check Out Form and report to Human Resources for follow‑up.
- Inspect cleanliness of Dormitory Public Areas and staff rooms daily and correct issues as needed.
- Schedule regular dormitory cleanliness inspections.
- Coordinate with contractors for pest control and fire equipment inspections.
- Implement Dormitory Rules and Regulations.
- Report disciplinary issues to the Director of Human Resources and educate employees as needed.
- Maintain room key copies per policy.
- Work with the hotel Loss Prevention Director to organize regular dormitory fire drills.
- Implement the Dormitory Visitor Policy.
- Maintain knowledge of dormitory contract terms and report deviations.
- Prepare the dormitory staff duty roster per schedule and submit for approval.
- Maintain records of dormitory issues, including maintenance requests, staff requests, and check‑in/out details.
- Update the rooming list weekly and submit to Human Resources.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with Linen Purchase/Replacement Planning per schedule.
- Coordinate with Laundry for weekly linen changes.
- Maintain inventory of store items such as chemicals and garbage bags.
- Keep an inventory of all dormitory items owned by the location.
- Solicit employee feedback using an open‑door policy.
- Bring employee satisfaction issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources.
- Participate in employee progressive discipline procedures.
- Provide information to supervisors, co‑workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e‑mail, or in person.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose solutions and solve problems.
- Inform and/or update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
