Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're looking for a detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our team, with a strong focus on HR data management
. This role is critical to how our HR function operates: you'll own the accuracy, structure, and reliability of employee data that directly feeds our payroll process. You'll work extensively with Excel and Google Sheets, and light coding/scripting skills are a big plus for automating and streamlining our data workflows.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys precision work, is comfortable owning data end-to-end, and wants to bring more structure and automation to HR operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain accurate employee records across HR systems, Excel, and Google Sheets
- Perform data entry and data validation that directly feeds payroll processing
- Build and maintain spreadsheets using formulas, pivot tables, and data validation to reduce manual errors
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data tasks (e.g., using scripts, macros, or Google Apps Script)
- Audit HR data regularly for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with data protection policies
- Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, and HR teams to ensure smooth data handoffs
- Proven experience in an HR, HR operations, or HR data/analyst role
- Strong Excel skills
: comfortable with formulas (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation) - Solid working knowledge of Google Sheets (including sharing/permissions, Google Apps Script a plus)
- Basic coding/scripting ability — e.g., Python, VBA, or Google Apps Script — to automate repetitive tasks or clean/manipulate data
- High attention to detail and strong data accuracy standards, especially given payroll implications
- Understanding of core HR data concepts (employee records, compensation data, leave/attendance, etc.)
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple data streams simultaneously
- Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM (or similar enterprise HRIS)
- Experience supporting or working closely with payroll processes
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience creating dashboards or automated reporting tools
Someone who:
- Thinks like a "data owner" — not just entering data, but questioning it, cleaning it, and improving how it's structured
- Is fluent in spreadsheet logic — able to build formulas and structures that reduce manual work and errors
- Has enough technical curiosity/coding exposure to automate where possible, even if not a "developer"
- Understands the weight of payroll-linked data — accuracy and timeliness are non-negotiable
- Is comfortable working cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, and HR stakeholders
