Consultz is supporting our client, a well-renowned Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) in their search for aStrategy & Growth Leader.
The Strategy & Growth Leader is responsible for shaping and driving the Hold Co’s long-term strategic direction and growth agenda. Therole leads enterprise-wide strategy formulation, portfolio growth initiatives,inorganic expansion, and value creation across assets, working closely with senior leadership, portfolio companies, and key stakeholders. The roleintegrates strategy, growth, and transformation across the Hold Co’s portfolio.
Given the holding company model, where the majority of valueis created through the portfolio rather than direct investment, the incumbent willbe responsible for designing and translating strategy into clear, executablepriorities across the portfolio as well as from an Holdco perspective. This involves a full understanding of value creation across multiple domainsincluding but not limited to investments, turnaround, AI, robotics, M&A,PMI, incubation, resilience as well as other focus areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and execution of the Hold Co’s corporate and portfolio-wide strategy in alignment with shareholder and national priorities.
- Drive strategic planning cycles, including multi-year plans, annual priorities, and portfolioreviews
- Identify, evaluate, anddrive growth opportunities, including new platforms, sectors,partnerships, and M&A initiatives.
- Support performance monitoring across portfolio companies.
- Define and monitorportfolio-wide value creation levers, ensuring consistency in strategicambition across assets.
- Partner with investment,asset management, and portfolio leadership teams to enhance value creation and operational effectiveness.
- Partner closely withinvestment and asset management teams to shape deal theses, growthnarratives, and post-investment value creation plans.
- Assess adjacencyexpansions, vertical integration opportunities, and international growthwhere aligned with the Hold Co’s mandate.
- Provide strategicinsights, scenario analysis, and recommendations to executive management and the Board.
- Support transformationinitiatives, innovation, and capability building to enable sustainablelong-term growth.
- Drive cross-portfoliosynergies and best-practice transfer across assets.
- Build and lead ahigh-performing strategy and growth function with strong analytical,commercial, and execution capabilities.
- Embed a disciplined,data-driven, and investment-oriented approach to strategy across the Hold Co.
- Broad strategic expertise across multiple sectors (e.g., energy, transport, healthcare), with strong grounding in infrastructure as a core asset class .
- Proven ability to identify cross‑sector synergies and unlock value across clusters or portfolios.
- A self‑directed, resilient leader who combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
- Strong program‑structuring and delivery skills , able to drive initiatives in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Confident in engaging senior stakeholders and capable of elevating and mobilizing strategy teams .
- Comfortable operating within lean team structures , with the ability to self‑execute end‑to‑end work streams.
- Market exposure to infrastructure‑focused investment or active‑management institutions where strategy and execution are tightly integrated (e.g., top global Asset Management firms).
