Field Service Coordinator
General Description
Under general supervision, the Field Services Coordinator provides on-site coordination and operational oversight for Industrial Services activities at client locations and, where required, at ACTION’s operational base. The role ensures efficient execution across mobilization, operations, and demobilization phases, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The Field Services Coordinator supports job planning, resource coordination, crew supervision, equipment readiness, and field documentation, and plays an active role in continuous improvement, competence development, and identification of potential commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Operations Coordination & Site Execution- Coordinate and oversee Industrial Services work scopes at the job site and operational base as required.
- Support end-to-end job execution, including mobilization, rig-up/rig-down, operations, and demobilization activities.
- Plan and perform job-related calculations and resource planning required for safe and effective field execution.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of service operators and supervisors to ensure work is executed to plan, safely and efficiently.
- Provide the necessary job planning, instructions, and guidance to field crews, including escalation and dispute resolution within approved levels.
- Ensure equipment and personnel readiness to meet operational and client schedule requirements.
- Coordinate equipment clean-up, repair, function testing, and preparation for upcoming jobs.
- Verify and prepare pre-job and post-job inventories for all required materials and tools (e.g., hoses, fittings, instrumentation).
- Ensure proper control, tracking, and readiness of equipment and consumables to minimize downtime and prevent execution delays.
- Maintain strong customer relations throughout mobilization, execution, and demobilization.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with job performance and service delivery standards.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate leads to the Operations Manager and/or Business Development Manager.
- Provide input on individual performance and support on-the-job coaching to strengthen capability and job execution quality.
- Mentor and train junior personnel in technical and operational areas of expertise.
- Act as a dedicated competency assessor for junior staff, as required by the organization.
- Promote high morale, teamwork, and a strong service culture through consistent leadership by example.
- Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness across all operations.
- Ensure compliance with ACTION and client Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, practices, and guidelines.
- Promote and actively participate in quality and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure job execution supports cost containment, efficiency, and overall operational profitability.
- Strong operational planning and execution discipline across Industrial Services work scopes.
- Excellent coordination and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams through supervisors and operators.
- Strong communication skills to ensure effective knowledge transfer related to job plans, calculations, parameters, hazards, quality standards, and environmental risks.
- Strong technical understanding of service line requirements, with a general awareness of adjacent Industrial Services functions.
- Sound computer skills for professional correspondence, reporting, and spreadsheet-based tracking.
- Ability to identify and communicate future work opportunities and support customer relationship growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an internationally recognized university.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience within the Industrial Services or Energy Services industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Services products and applications, including:
- Pipeline and process services
- Pre-commissioning services
- Energy infrastructure specialty maintenance services
- Strong computer literacy, including the ability to prepare professional documents and spreadsheets and interpret basic financial models.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong prioritization, delegation, and coordination skills, with a proven ability to lead through others.
- Commercial driving license (or ability to obtain one) may be required, depending on operational needs.
