Person Specification
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and recognized industry‑regulated qualifications.
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role (e.g. Facilities, Projects, Contracts Management). Minimum of two years’ experience managing teams in a complex organization.
- A strong knowledge base of health and safety procedures coupled with knowledge of (and corresponding qualifications wherever appropriate) electro‑mechanical systems (such as AHU’s / Water pumps) and the ability to carry out minor maintenance works in conjunction with the school’s handyman.
- Working knowledge of maintenance skills, e.g. electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- The ability to explain issues and requirements to the school’s senior leadership team.
- Well organized and good at making decisions so that work plans and schedules reflect the needs of the school.
- Ability to manage and distribute resources in the most cost‑efficient ways.
- A knowledge of security and cleaning practices with effective management of contractors.
- The ability to manage individual staff members and groups of contracted staff members.
- Excellent communication skills and command of the English language, in written and oral form.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ensure that the school facilities are properly maintained and cleaned.
- Coordinate and manage contractors (Buses, canteen, third party contractors). Coordinate tasks and follow up on tasks pending to be closed promptly.
- Monthly assets verification to be completed and submitted.
- All required licenses per Abu Dhabi regulations will be renewed, issued, and documented. Highlighting any concerns to the OM.
- Daily inspections to ensure the health and safety of the school. Report or rectify issues that may present a health and safety concern.
- Assist in timely fire drills. Confirm all fire escapes are kept free from obstructions to maintain a safe exit from the buildings. Be fully aware of the school’s fire drill policy and support its compliance.
