Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate judgment and self‑sufficiency in effective problem solving while serving as the administrative and operational resource for the hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Intervene effectively in situations involving accounting and financial decision making.
  • Ensure that all aspects of financial accounting are managed smoothly, uninterrupted and error free.
  • Coordinate with the insurance department to minimize financial losses due to non‑recoverable claims.
  • Ensure timely submission of all reports and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate the ability to see the big picture in terms of the strategic operational plan and monitor and direct processes to fulfill such plans.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and ensure all financial objectives are met.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information and confidential administrative matters.
  • Develop and promote a fair administrative environment in the department that is unbiased and apolitical.
  • Provide support for audit activities.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Hospital Administrator and Head of Finance.
  • Carry out other relevant duties incidental to the role.
  • Comply with all OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperate with hospital management to accomplish those requirements.
  • Work in accordance with documented OSH procedures and specific responsibilities.
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Notify OSH hazards, incidents, near misses and issues and assist with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports.
  • Comply with waste management procedures and policies.
  • Attend applicable OSH / infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems.
  • Ensure as far as reasonably practicable that workplaces managed or controlled are safe and free from health, safety or environmental risks.
  • Ensure implementation of applicable HAAD, NMCRH OSHMS and infection control policies and standards.
  • Ensure adequate budget and resources for FMS/OSH/PCI management.
  • Designate a Safety Facilitator responsible for coordinating departmental OSH activities.
  • Regularly discuss OSH matters in departmental and management meetings.
  • Ensure provision of OSH information, training and supervision.
  • Implement and monitor the effectiveness of the risk management program.
  • Qualifications
    • Three‑year Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
    • MBA in Finance or CA qualification preferred.
    • Minimum of two years’ experience in finance and accounting.
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
    • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and financial software systems.
