Job Objective:
To drive operational excellence in municipal waste management by ensuring optimal fleet utilization, seamless service delivery, and full compliance with regulatory standards across all municipal areas. Maximize resource efficiency, implement sustainable initiatives, and leverage data-driven insights to enhance performance, exceed service level commitments, and continuously improve operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction, while supporting organizational growth and long-term objectives - aiming to establish a high-performing, compliant, and sustainable municipal waste operation that consistently delivers superior service to the community and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Develop, upgrade, and implement comprehensive municipal waste operations plans and service delivery frameworks, aligning fleet deployment, scheduling strategies, and operational execution with customer SLAs and business objectives, ensuring consistent, efficient, and compliant waste collection and disposal services across all municipal areas.
- Ensure pre-collection activities by ensuring proper placement, labelling, accessibility, hygiene, and regular washing of bins and containers in all municipal areas, ensuring readiness for collection, preventing missed pickups, extending asset lifespan, and maintaining full regulatory compliance.
- Validate workload distribution, manpower allocation, and route planning by reviewing resource allocation models and performance outputs across all shifts and rosters, optimizing fleet utilization and reducing operational inefficiencies for municipal waste collection and disposal.
- Plan and execute fleet requirements of contract mobilizations, service transitions, and large-scale rollouts by managing job planning and coordinating resource scheduling, ensuring operational readiness that meets service start dates, customer requirements, and internal capacity for on-time and compliant service launch.
- Provide the Head of Municipal Operations with comprehensive operational insights for contract negotiations and renewals, including fleet readiness, service coverage capacity, workforce availability, performance metrics, compliance status, cost analysis, and GIS-based route optimization data, ensuring that all contractual commitments are operationally feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Direct and oversee daily operations across all municipal areas by guiding resource planning, scheduled services, emergency responses, and special projects, ensuring uninterrupted municipal waste collection and disposal.
