Department Manager

To meet the targets or to ensure that procedures are in place driving them monitoring and putting corrective actions in place when necessary for Security Shrinkage Cash-desk management Administration management as well as Health and Safety.

• Use commercial information and product knowledge to drive sales and other activity in the store using the internal tools provided.
• Drive marketing initiatives and sales performance and manage the budget of hours in the store effectively.
• Design the ideal rota to ensure staff coverage in the store at all times.
• Be well aware of the competitors, involve and create/manage relationships and/or do competitor shopping, giving relevant feedback to appropriate parties such as product managers, regional managers and teams.
• Control stationery, cleaning, telephone, post, maintenance, uniforms and travel costs and make sure these are in line with company budgets.
• Follow the minimums of customer service consistently and drive the team to ensure that these minimums are maintained across the store and ensure a high level of customer service is offered, leading by example.
• Monitor and support customer service action plans, train the team in providing excellent customer service and manage customer issues as they arise, striving for customer satisfaction.
• Understand and reinforce the company return policy.
• Engage in forward‑thinking and planning with low‑cost initiatives.
• Maintain clear, timely and effective communication with head office, product managers, regional manager and/or commercial directors and with the store overall, including relevant follow‑ups.
• Manage conflict effectively, respecting company standards, and provide and receive constructive and honest feedback and criticism for improvement, promoting a positive development culture for the team.
• Develop the team through training, performance reviews and personal development plans with relevant follow‑ups.
• Ensure that the stock room is organised efficiently and that order and replenishment are done timely and effectively, ensuring the store is merchandised according to standards, best sellers and current trends.

• 3–4 years of related professional experience.
• Good knowledge of the brand.
• Solid experience managing a similar fast‑paced retail operation.
• Proven ability to maximise profitability and drive sales.
• Strong team management experience.
• Has led a stable and consistent career.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
