About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PMC Contracts Manager to support the delivery of major projects in Abu Dhabi, providing strategic contract management leadership throughout the project lifecycle from design through to construction and handover.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a Tier 1 PMC environment with strong expertise in contract administration, claims management, commercial negotiations, and contractual governance. Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, particularly FIDIC-based agreements, is essential, along with the ability to manage complex contractual matters across clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.

As a key member of the project management team, you will ensure contractual compliance, mitigate risks, protect client interests, and provide expert commercial and contractual advice to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead contract management activities across major PMC projects from pre-contract award through construction completion and final close-out.
  • Provide strategic contractual advice to clients, project teams, consultants, and contractors on contractual obligations, risks, and project delivery matters.
  • Oversee the administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on contractor claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT) submissions, and contractual disputes.
  • Prepare detailed contractual reports, assessments, and recommendations for client and senior management review.
  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual milestones, deliverables, and obligations, supporting effective project controls and successful delivery outcomes.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, notices, records, and documentation to maintain robust contract administration, risk management, and audit compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance on FIDIC-based contracts—including Red Book, Yellow Book, and other relevant forms—supporting contract interpretation, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support project teams with change management and cost implications.
  • Develop and implement contract management procedures, governance frameworks, and reporting systems while mentoring junior contract professionals and promoting industry best practices.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience in contract management within the construction and built environment sector.
  • Proven experience working for a Tier 1 PMC is highly advantageous.
  • Strong background managing contracts on large-scale projects within the UAE.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, contract administration, and commercial management.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC forms of contract and UAE construction practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing claims, variations, EOT submissions, and contractual disputes.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, specifications, drawings, and commercial agreements.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and contractors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to provide strategic contractual advice to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working within a PMC consultancy environment is essential.
  • Abu Dhabi project experience is preferred.
  • Must be based in Abu Dhabi or willing to relocate.
Qualifications & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, PMP, or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Relevant contract management certifications are preferred.
