The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all Infrastructure contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties, raising claims against warranty or non-compliances as required.
Key area of focus shall be management of the systems, facilities, civils and track related maintenance contracts. Covering all commercial and legal matters, seeking support from General Legal counsel as and when required.
Roles and Responsibility- Responsible for managing all Infrastructure contracts.
- Ensuring obligations within various contracts for each of the parties is understood and fulfilled as appropriate.
- Contract management of Maintenance Service Agreements for Infrastructure assets.
- Managing the company’s commercial interests through each contract.
- Ensuring the suppliers deliver on their contractual obligation
- Leveraging opportunities and managing commercial risks
- Drafting of formal letters and notices
- Ensuring maximum value is leveraged from each agreement.
- Work in close cooperation and consultation with other functions and departments as required.
- Produce detailed reports at a frequency and content as and when directed by line manager.
- Be responsible for your own, and others safety.
Academic Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant specialism (legal, commercial), railway operational and maintenance experience would be an advantage.
- Full driving license
- Extensive experience in contract management
- Commercially minded and familiar with legal terms
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance and service level agreements
- Familiar with railway and engineering terminology
- Working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-national team
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team and on an individual basis
- Good leadership skills
- English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
- Analytical skills for problem solving
- Multi skilled over a number of disciplines
- Ability to train technicians and pass on experience and knowledge
- Experience of working in fleet technical department or standards department
