Job Description

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Project Manager – Subsea to join our client's offshore project delivery team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a permanent office-based role with offshore and field travel as required, leading the successful delivery of subsea Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Inspection, Repair and Maintenance (IRM), and inspection projects from contract award through to project close‑out.

You will be responsible for overall project execution, ensuring delivery against schedule, budget, quality and HSE objectives while acting as the primary client interface. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, procurement, marine, and offshore personnel, you will drive project performance, manage commercial risks and ensure safe and efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of subsea EPC, IRM, inspection, and offshore construction projects from contract award through execution and final close‑out, ensuring delivery in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and HSE objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project execution plans, integrated schedules, resource plans, cost trackers, risk registers, and project controls to effectively monitor progress and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, operations, marine, offshore personnel, logistics, and project support functions, ensuring effective collaboration throughout all project phases.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, managing day‑to‑day communications, progress meetings, technical discussions, contractual correspondence, approvals, variation requests, and stakeholder expectations while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Monitor and control project financial performance, including budgeting, cost forecasting, cash flow, resource utilisation, variation management, and margin protection, ensuring commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, technical challenges, and execution issues, implementing mitigation strategies and corrective actions to minimise schedule and cost impacts.
  • Plan and oversee offshore campaigns, vessel mobilisations, subcontractor activities, and third‑party interfaces, ensuring all operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies, client requirements, industry standards, and quality management systems across all office and offshore activities, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the project team.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services while monitoring performance against contractual scope, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Lead regular project progress meetings, management reviews, and governance reporting, preparing accurate reports on project status, financial performance, risks, resource requirements, and key performance indicators for internal management and client stakeholders.
  • Support business development and tendering activities by providing technical expertise, project planning input, execution strategies, cost insights, and lessons learned to strengthen future project proposals and operational performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Subsea, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subsea EPC, IRM, inspection, or offshore construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of subsea systems, offshore construction methodologies, ROV operations, and diving scopes.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and client‑facing project delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of project planning, budgeting, scheduling, contract management, and commercial controls.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
