Job Description
The position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Abu Dhabi regulatory requirements, including OSHAD SF Framework, and the Abu Dhabi Ports Integrated Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001), while maintaining a safe, secure, and operationally efficient environment in a high-visibility and reputationally sensitive setting.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and control all HSE activities associated with cruise terminal operations and public marina facilities to ensure risks to passengers, employees, contractors, and the public are maintained at As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
- Ensure the safe management of passenger embarkation and disembarkation activities, vessel access, waterfront operations, crowd movement, and work near water, including the effective control of risks related to gangway operations, slips, trips, and falls.
- Oversee marina operations, including vessel movements, berthing activities, fueling operations, and maintenance work on jetties and pontoons, ensuring effective controls are in place to prevent collisions, spills, fire hazards, and drowning risks.
- Manage contractor and third‑party activities, including event organizers, maintenance contractors, and service providers, through the effective implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems and review of risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Abu Dhabi regulatory requirements, AD Ports HSE procedures, and Integrated Management System standards, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Implement and enforce the Management of Change (MoC) process for operational, infrastructure, and facility modifications, ensuring risks are assessed and approved prior to implementation.
- Lead HSE incident management activities, including reporting, investigations, root‑cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and submit HSE performance reports to senior management, providing insights into compliance status, risk exposure, incident trends, and improvement initiatives.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental protection, ensuring alignment with regulatory and sustainability requirements.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of emergency preparedness and response arrangements for terminal and marina operations.
- Coordinate with external emergency services, including Civil Defense, Ambulance Services, and Coast Guard, to ensure effective emergency preparedness and response.
- Lead HSE awareness campaigns, training programs, and initiatives that promote a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure personnel involved in operations, crowd management, emergency response, and other critical activities are competent, ade Foster a proactive safety culture by promoting employee engagement and accountability in HSE performance across all operational activities.
- Develop and maintain Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to ensure resilience and continuity of terminal and marina operations during disruptions.
- Ensure organizational readiness through regular emergency drills, exercises, testing, and evaluation of response effectiveness.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance data, including passenger‑related incidents, contractor performance, and operational risks, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and drive strategic initiatives that enhance safety performance, strengthen compliance, reduce recurring incidents, and support operational excellence.
- Support the continuous improvement of HSE management systems and risk management frameworks in alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.quately trained, and aware of their HSE responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree, Higher Diploma or Diploma in Engineering/ Science/HSE
