Responsible to drive the business development strategy, achieve the financial and non-financial targets, develop new and existing opportunities; expand existing relationships and attract new customers and revenue lines for the Ports Unit business.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:
Manage strategic and large ticket size opportunities for economic and commercial value creation through the development of new port businesses and expansions of established port & enabling services that improves the port.
Drive business leads as required in order to achieve overall strategic goals of Ports Cluster.
Identify, review and propose alliances/joint venture opportunities where appropriate.
Act as the focal point for drafting commercial contract agreements relating to ports and port facilities.
Liaise with other Clusters of AD Ports Group to identify opportunities for offering a unified cross cluster solution.
Translate business targets and budgets into tangible plans and action items.
Responsible for the initiation of commercial and business models development for the purpose of seeking approval for business opportunities.
Responsible for contributing to the strategic procurement for Ports Cluster.
Focus on developing offshore, ship repair and petrochemical businesses for Ports Cluster.
People Management Responsibilities:
Provide strong and visionary leadership, supervision, and guidance to the team, setting clear expectations and creating a culture of accountability.
Offer coaching and mentoring to team members to enhance their capabilities and problem-solving skills.
Foster a strong sense of collaboration and teamwork among team members to maximize their collective potential.
Strategic Responsibilities:
Ensure alignment of projects as per strategic direction of ports cluster.
Participate in the formulation of the overall Commercial and Business Development strategy and ensure the alignment with group objectives.
Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on business opportunities, best practices and trends.
Lead the strategic planning, development, execution, and evaluation of all business development programs and initiatives.
Translate cluster strategies into detailed initiatives.
QualificationsEducational and Technical
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in B usiness Administration, Commerce, Supply chain or a related field. Master's degree is a plus

Excellent English . Arabic is an added advantage

Experience:
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role
Nature of
Experience:
Preferably has worked for Port Business development, 3PL / 4PL supply chain companies or Supply chain consulting companies.
Ability to understand strategic issues and hold an overall perspective of the organization.
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Exceptional organizational skills, at ease with ambiguity, ability to deal with high complexity situations, comfortable with a high level of detail yet mindful of the bigger picture.
Experience in project management including the ability to plan, execute and oversee projects from concept to implementation.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address complex challenges and opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
