About the RoleThe Principal Technician plays a pivotal leadership role within the Aero Engine MRO division's Engine Operations department, primarily overseeing Gate 3 & 4 operations. As a trusted Approval Holder, this position leads a dedicated team responsible for engine disassembly, assembly, and inspection activities, ensuring strict compliance with approved technical data and the highest standards of Quality and Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E).
The role is essential in maintaining aviation safety and fostering an ethical, open culture while managing total engine processes and driving operational excellence.
- Total Engine Management Process Leadership (50%): Lead and oversee all aspects of the engine disassembly, assembly, and inspection activities in strict adherence to aviation and HS&E regulations.
- Ethical Leadership and Culture Promotion (25%): Act as a trusted Approval Holder by promoting an ethical work environment, addressing any inappropriate behavior, and encouraging open and honest feedback.
- Technician Development and Resource Management (15%): Ensure the availability and effective deployment of resources, collaborate with supervision, and support the training and development of the technical team.
- Customer Support and Continuous Improvement (5%): Engage in developing and implementing improvement plans using LEAN tools to address business variances and enhance operational performance.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance (5%): Maintain rigorous quality standards and ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational policies.
We seek a highly skilled professional with a strong background in Aero Engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and demonstrated leadership experience. The ideal candidate holds vocational or technical qualifications in aviation or related disciplines and possesses D3 level authorization or equivalent certification. With 3 to 5 years of relevant technical experience and at least one year in a first-line management role, you bring expertise in engine MRO processes, IT proficiency, and a commitment to quality and safety management.

Additional Information for Internal EmployeesThis role is classified as Grade 12 within the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO group and is a full-time direct employment position. Reporting lines include the Senior Supervisor or Supervisor for Gate 3 & 4, with supervisory responsibilities over Senior Technicians, Lead Technicians, Technicians, Contractors, and Temporary Foreign Workers.
