We are seeking an EHS Country Lead to support our growing presence in the UAE energy sector.

As the country focal point for EHS, you will support the Country MD, Business Areas, and Global Functions in implementing and governing the EHS elements defined in the Country Core and Zero Harm Framework. You will ensure that legal and corporate EHS requirements are effectively identified, implemented, monitored, and maintained across all business activities.

You will lead EHS compliance governance, risk management, emergency preparedness and response, incident management, and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) initiatives while driving continuous improvement in EHS performance and supporting customer satisfaction. Working closely with business leaders, project teams, customers, and regulatory authorities, you will help embed a strong Zero Harm culture and ensure EHS is integrated into business decision-making across the country.

You will need excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams in achieving and sustaining legal compliance, operational excellence, and a strong Zero Harm culture.

• The role has the responsibility to support the Country MD, Business Areas, and Global Functions in the country including Permanent Establishments and Affiliated Companies on the EHS elements identified in the Country Core and the Zero Harm Framework. Country core includes elements within the following categories:
  Legal structure and compliance with country and local EHS regulations, health promotion and programs, regulation and compliance, support for the reporting of incidents, investigation, and root cause analysis.
• Expertise in KPI reporting, annual reporting, EHS communications, project/resource management, and a strong commitment to Country Zero Harm and HOP culture, along with proven leadership skills.
• Champion of EHS within the organization in UAE. Sound knowledge of Legislative / Regulatory and International Standards requirements and keeps abreast with the changes ensuring all functions / personnel within the organization / business are made aware as applicable.
• Guiding and educating all personnel on EHS requirements based on the established management system. Disseminating EHS details and information from Business and Region on timely manner in accordance with the line of communication.
• Ensure timely engagements with internal and external stakeholders as well as fulfilling all requirements considering the interfaces along the life of an activity or project. Proactively coordinate with factory leadership, project teams, and technical services to embed EHS controls into daily operations and strategic planning.
• Lead cross-functional alignment between project managers, site teams, and office-based functions to ensure consistent implementation of EHS standards. Engage external stakeholders such as customers, regulatory authorities, and service providers to ensure compliance, transparency, and alignment with legal and contractual obligations. Facilitate regular stakeholder forums and governance reviews to monitor EHS performance, share lessons learned, and address emerging risks across all operational layers - factory, project sites, and offices.
• Diligently participate in all meetings and engagements and collaborate with the region’s focal points on EHS matters and ensure all applicable requirements are effectively rolled out across the Business in the country. Ensures EHS activities are adhering and where applicable complementing with the Global and Regional EHS and Quality Plan / Road Map.
• Support responsible EHS teams in the business areas when needed and guide them in respect to legal requirements and best practices. Ensure the corrective and preventive actions, i.e. Lesson Learned, are implemented effectively and the effectiveness of those are gauged during inspections or audits as part of the continuous improvement process.
