Programme Context
Flagship Programme 1:
Ecotourism – Al Rams (Ras Al Khaimah)
Emirates Nature–WWF, in partnership with the Emirates Council for Balanced Development (ECBD), is implementing the Building Sustainable Rural Communities project to support a sustainable development model for the rural community of Al Rams. The project focuses on developing an ecotourism plan that highlights the area’s natural and cultural heritage while preserving and restoring key ecosystems.
A core outcome of the initiative is the design and construction of an eco-trail linking mountainous landscapes, farmlands, and a coastal lagoon, offering visitors an integrated cultural and nature-based experience while creating local economic opportunities.
Flagship Programme 2: UAE Alliance for Climate Action (UACA)
Launched by Emirates Nature–WWF at COP
27, the UAE Alliance for Climate Action is a multi-stakeholder coalition advancing science-based climate action in line with the Paris Agreement and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050.
Endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and supported by HSBC Middle East as founding donor, UACA brings together 55+ members across sectors to accelerate decarbonisation and support an enabling policy environment for climate action in the UAE.
