A HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and installations in good working condition by carrying out necessary repairs and preventive maintenance.

• Report to the A/C and Refrigeration Technician/Foreman regarding daily work progress and trouble report completion.
• Attain all refrigeration and A/C trouble reports on a daily basis, giving guest room trouble priority.
• Work closely with the A/C and Refrigeration Technician/Foreman and peers to carry out preventive maintenance and the annual maintenance program.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, departmental procedures, and instructions.
• Carry out all other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Read building, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical drawings.
• Fault‑find and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and building control systems; have good electrical knowledge.
• Be knowledgeable of BMS systems.
• Have experience with reciprocating chillers, air‑handling units, and cold rooms.
• Be familiar with planned preventive maintenance and safety programmes.
• Be flexible and a team player, able to work on own initiative.
• Understand water treatment techniques and handle chemicals.
• Make periodic inspection tours to check all refrigeration equipment is functioning properly.
• Carry out guest‑room maintenance according to the scheduled programme.
• Work closely with the electrician to carry out electrical work when required.
• Fill in the daily refrigeration log sheet and record temperatures.
• Assist peers in their jobs when requested by the supervisor.
• Keep all necessary tools in good working condition and keep the work area neat and clean.
• Attend all departmental meetings and training classes.

• Minimum 5 years of air‑conditioning or refrigeration installation or maintenance experience in industrial/commercial projects.
• Good all‑round practical trade skills, including fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
• Preferable to have completed an apprenticeship or have apprenticeship time service experience.
• Experience in hotels or hospitals is an advantage.
