Job Brief: This role is an opportunity for a professional, engaged, and open-minded individual to join a team of dedicated technicians providing a full range of door and automation products and related services. The position involves installation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, customer support, and adherence to strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Profoundly interested on a daily basis in selling solutions to end users as part of recommendations to improve product performance.
- Carry out installations, repairs, planned and preventative maintenance, and other service activities on the full range of products, including both in-house and competitor systems. This requires logical and systematic steps to diagnose any potential or existing faults.
- Recommend improvements to customers and provide quotations for prospective work such as replacement of wear-and-tear parts, upgrades to enhance functionality, and the benefits of a 24/7 service agreement.
- Conduct unplanned and proactive visits to known customers to check satisfaction and promote capabilities and services.
- Work closely with the sales force so that potential sales leads outside of your scope can be captured and managed internally.
- Complete required training to enhance your product knowledge and stay updated on market developments and competitor offerings.
- Maintain the company vehicle, stock, and tools in good working order.
- Handle troubleshooting, accurate reporting, proper detailing of job numbers, travel time, equipment labeling, and completion of door assignments.
- Read, understand, and strictly comply with Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience:
At least 2–3 years in similar roles. - Education:
Technical degree or high school diploma. - Clean driving license; additional operating licenses are beneficial.
- Education in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic training is preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30–35 kg independently.
- Responsible, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Results-oriented with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Eager to learn and develop new technical and sales-related skills.
- Able to work independently, managing time and workload effectively.
- Builds good working relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Ability to work under extensive pressure and deliver efficient results on time.
- Positive attitude.
- Informatics knowledge: computer applications such as Word and mailing systems.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong listening abilities.
- Priority setting and time-management skills.
