Pigments Technician

Job Description

• Responsible for mixing paints, matching colours, preparing surfaces, and applying paint to the surfaces. May perform touch-ups or coordinate large painting projects related to the maintenance/renovation works.
• Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
• Mix, match, and apply all types of paints, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
• Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces before painting.
• Clean walls to ensure proper adherence.
• Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure the protection of assets, like furniture, computers, other electronic equipment and flooring, etc.
• Remove and install wall covering (wallpaper).
• Request the required materials for painting, wallpapers, and required tools and accessories to execute the job.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Utilize spray guns for small/large jobs.
• Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.
• Basic knowledge to erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging to get access to difficult areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary.
• Remove all mounting fixtures before executing the painting or wallpaper works.
• Apply several coats of paint according to the directions of the immediate In‑charge or as per the site requirement.
• Tape off areas when needed.
• Make the area neat and tidy after completion of the job, and remove paint drums, plastic or other unused items to be stored at a designated place as per the instruction of the immediate In‑charge.
• Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.

Academic

Qualification:

High School or above.

Technical

Qualification:

Certification in painting works with an understanding of Color Theory, various finishes and types of painting material, and wall covering (wallpaper).

Experience:

5 years and above in a similar field and Gulf Experience at least a minimum of 3 years.
