Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG, MMA, and gas welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components to specified standards.
• Operate lathe machine operations.
• Fabricate structural steel frameworks, supports, brackets, railings, guardrails, and custom metalwork as required.
• Carry out fitting, alignment, and assembly of mechanical components and structural assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric diagrams, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
• Conduct weld inspection and visual examination of completed welds in accordance with applicable standards (AWS, BS EN or equivalent).
• Perform cutting operations using plasma cutting, oxy‑acetylene, and angle grinders.
• Execute repair welding on facility structures, equipment frames, doors, gates, and mechanical components.
• Assist with the installation and modification of pipework, hangers, and structural attachments.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working order.
• Ensure work areas are maintained safely, including pre‑ and post‑weld cleanup.
• Comply fully with ALTAIF HSE requirements including hot work permit procedures, PPE usage, and fire watch protocols.
• Document all fabrication and repair work completed and report to the Facilities Supervisor.

• Experience with aluminum welding is a strong advantage.
• Valid welding certification in MIG, TIG, and MMA processes (AWS D1.1 or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, distortion control, and post‑weld treatment.
• Familiarity with non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods is an advantage.
• UAE CICPA/ADNOC HSE awareness certificate or equivalent (preferred).
• Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting, working at height, and in confined spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality and workmanship.
