Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on various marine vessels including engines, transmissions, and steering systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of marine equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engine malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
- Inspect and repair fuel systems including fuel lines, pumps, and injectors to maintain fuel efficiency and prevent leaks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a marine mechanic training program is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as ABYC or manufacturer‑specific certifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience working on a variety of marine engines and systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and related equipment.
