Valve Field Service Technician

Role Summary

The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs Flowserve’s valves and other equipment across industries. In this challenging position the FST provides real‑time technical support to our customers, and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment. The FST is actively engaged in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions onsite at nearby customer facilities. Our Field Service Technician team is the face of Flowserve, and we count on them to deliver a world‑class service to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services.

• Troubleshooting and repair of Flowserve valves and associated equipment across industrial sites.
• Assembly, testing, and calibration of control valves with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators.
• Disassembling, inspecting, and assessing valve and actuator condition, and submitting technical service or repair reports.
• Re‑machining valve trim components, understanding engineering drawings, and coordinating with third‑party workshops for valve and actuator service activities.
• Valve calibration involving digital positioners, electric and hydraulic actuators, and various valve accessories such as volume boosters, lock‑up relays, and SOVs; troubleshooting at site, shop, and during commissioning activities including turnarounds and plant start‑ups.
• Pressure testing various types of valves (SHELL, seat), operating hydrotest machines, and applying international standards for pressure testing and valve calibration.
• Preparing detailed technical service reports after valve and actuator servicing and troubleshooting, and offering reliable technical recommendations to customers.
• Interacting with factory engineering teams to resolve issues and provide technical solutions.
• Conducting plant walks and site surveys to collect installed base data, prepare site survey reports, and recommend upgrades or replacements of third‑party products such as valves, actuators, and positioners with technical justification.

• Professional certifications in the field of valve service and maintenance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with unfamiliar teams.
• High school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
