Role Summary
The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, troubleshoots, and repairs Flowserve's valves and other equipment across industries. In this challenging position the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real‑time technical support to our customers and recommends repairs, upgrades, and replacement equipment. The FST actively engages in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions onsite at nearby customer facilities. YourRole
- Thorough technical knowledge on assembling, testing, and calibrating control valves with pneumatic actuators, hydraulic and electric actuators.
- Dis‑mantling, inspection, and service assessment based on valve and actuator condition and submitting technical service/repair reports.
- Basic knowledge of re‑machining valve trim components, understanding engineering drawings, and working with third‑party workshops to complete valve and actuator service activities.
- Detailed knowledge of valve calibration involving digital positioners, electric actuators, hydraulic actuators, and various valve accessories (volume boosters, lock‑up relays, SOVs, etc.), troubleshooting of valves onsite, in shop, during commissioning activities, turnarounds, and plant start‑ups.
- Pressure testing of various valve types (shell, seat), knowledge of hydro test machine operation, and basic knowledge of international standards pertaining to pressure testing and valve calibration.
- Preparation of technical service reports after valve/actuator servicing, troubleshooting, and providing reliable technical recommendations to customers.
- Interaction with factory engineering teams to resolve issues and provide reliable technical solutions to customers.
- Conducting plant walks and site surveys to collect installed‑base data, preparing site survey reports with recommendations for upgrading existing products, and replacing third‑party products (valves, actuators, positioners, etc.) with technical justification.
- Professional certifications in this field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with unfamiliar teams.
- HS diploma/GED and 3–5 years relevant experience.
