Job Summary

The Plant Mechanic is responsible for carrying out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of block batching plants and other production equipment. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, minimum downtime, cost-effective maintenance, and compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Perform preventive, routine, and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose equipment faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Inspect, service, install, and maintain mechanical systems, components, and production equipment.
• Coordinate with the Production Department to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
• Ensure plant equipment operates efficiently and supports optimum production output.
• Maintain maintenance records and report equipment issues, repairs, and spare-part requirements.
• Support statutory inspections and ensure compliance with applicable maintenance regulations.
• Follow approved QHSE procedures and maintain safe working practices at all times.
• Assist in resolving urgent breakdowns and prioritize maintenance activities based on production requirements.
• Work closely with the Mechanical Foreman and plant personnel to ensure smooth plant operations.

• Vocational/Technical Certification or Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in plant, machinery, or industrial equipment maintenance.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience working with production plants, batching plants, manufacturing equipment, or similar industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, maintenance standards, and statutory requirements.
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
