Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in heavy-duty trucks and specialized vehicles, ensuring minimum vehicle downtime.
Perform engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, differential repairs, and suspension system repairs using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Carry out comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance inspections and identify potential mechanical failures before they occur.
Troubleshoot and repair braking, steering, suspension, fuel, cooling, and air systems of heavy vehicles.
Diagnose electrical and electronic faults using vehicle diagnostic scanners and specialized testing equipment
.Troubleshoot and repair tanker trailers and their related mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
.Possess good working knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing heavy trucks, including Scania, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Ford
.Interpret and utilize technical manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics, and diagnostic software to identify and rectify faults.
Conduct road tests and functional checks after repairs to ensure vehicles are safe and operational.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, parts replaced, and vehicle defects
.Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with company safety procedures and manufacturer specifications
.Guide and support junior mechanics and helpers in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with the workshop supervisor and operations team to prioritize urgent repairs and ensure timely vehicle availability.
Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure workshop tools and equipment are used safely and correctly.
Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Senior Mechanic.
Strong hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks, tanker trailers, and specialized vehicles
.Good troubleshooting knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and air-brake systems
.Experience with
Scania, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, and Ford heavy trucks is preferred.Strong knowledge of engine, transmission, differential, suspension, steering, braking, and cooling systems
.Ability to use diagnostic scanners and workshop testing equipment
.Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and system schematics
.Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently and lead junior mechanics when required.
