Black & Grey HR is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our client's operations team on a permanent, shore-based basis in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for mainly about moving, loading, unloading, and positioning materials and equipment safely at the company's yard, warehouse, jetty, and vessels. The role requires strict adherence to lifting procedures, HSE requirements, and safe forklift operating practices.
Responsibilities- Operating forklifts to move equipment, pipes, pallets, tools, spare parts, containers, and other materials.
- Loading and unloading trucks at the yard or warehouse.
- Moving equipment between warehouse, workshop, yard, jetty, and project staging areas.
- Positioning heavy equipment accurately for lifting or transportation.
- Checking the weight, dimensions, load center, and stability before moving a load.
- Performing daily forklift inspections before operating the machine.
- Checking tires, forks, hydraulics, brakes, lights, horn, seat belt, warning alarms, etc.
- Reporting any damage, malfunction, or unsafe condition to the supervisor.
- Keeping the yard and storage areas clean and organized.
- Following HSE procedures, PPE requirements, toolbox talks, risk assessments and Permit-to-Work requirements were applicable.
- Coordinating with storekeepers, riggers, logistics personnel, vessel crew and project teams.
- Valid UAE Forklift Operator License.
- Diploma or any Trade certification preferred.
- Min 5 years of experience with recognized forklift certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in warehouse, yard, logistics, marine, offshore, or industrial environments.
- Good understanding of forklift safety, load capacity, load center, and safe material handling.
- Ability to work safely around cranes, riggers, trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Good communication and coordination skills with banks men/signalers and operational teams.
- Basic understanding of HSE requirements and lifting procedures.
- Good housekeeping and organizational skills.
- Physically fit, safety-conscious, and aware of surrounding activities.
- Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safe lifting practices.
