Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test and commission audio visual systems and equipment.
- Install and troubleshoot LED LCD displays, projectors, projection screens, video walls, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, DSPs and cameras.
- Perform installation and termination of AV cabling including HDMI, SDI, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber, XLR and other relevant cables.
- Configure and troubleshoot video conferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and similar platforms.
- Assist with installation and configuration of Crestron, Extron, AMX or other AV control systems.
- Perform basic configuration of Digital Signal Processors (DSP), audio mixers, amplifiers and audio distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot audio, video connectivity signal and equipment-related issues.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning and preventive maintenance activities.
- Read and interpret AV drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and equipment layouts.
- Assist AV Engineers and AV Programmers during system integration and commissioning.
- Perform onsite technical support during meetings, conferences, presentations and events when required.
- Maintain proper documentation of installations, testing, equipment configuration and service activities.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, subcontractors and clients during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, safety requirements and industry standards.
- Identify faulty equipment and coordinate repair or replacement as required.
- Provide technical support and user assistance for AV systems.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, Audio Visual Technology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience as an AV Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of professional audio and video equipment.
- Experience with AV installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of AV cabling, connectors, signal flow, and basic networking.
- Experience with video conferencing and collaboration systems.
- Knowledge of Crestron, Extron, or AMX is an advantage.
- Knowledge of audio DSPs, amplifiers, microphones, speakers, and mixers.
- Ability to read AV schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Basic understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP, VLANs, and PoE is preferred.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
- Willingness to work onsite and outside normal working hours when required.
