Role ContextThe Electrical Inspector will provide independent site oversight of electrical installations throughout the construction process. The position bridges design requirements and field execution by confirming that materials, workmanship, equipment, testing, and completed systems comply with approved drawings, specifications, Abu Dhabi regulations, and applicable international standards. Through disciplined inspections and accurate reporting, the role helps prevent installation defects, resolve technical issues early, protect site safety, and maintain construction progress without compromising quality or regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect electrical installations, systems, equipment, and associated works across active construction sites.
- Verify that completed and ongoing electrical activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, local regulations, and recognized international standards.
- Supervise contractor electrical works and monitor adherence to project quality requirements and established safety procedures.
- Review electrical drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation before and during installation activities.
- Identify discrepancies between approved design information and actual site execution and raise them with the responsible project teams.
- Witness electrical testing and commissioning activities using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Record inspection results, measurements, deficiencies, and corrective actions in clear technical reports.
- Detect electrical code violations, unsafe installations, workmanship defects, and other conditions requiring remediation.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and site supervision personnel to close outstanding technical issues.
- Monitor corrective works and confirm that deficiencies have been properly rectified before acceptance.
- Maintain organized records of inspections, test certificates, approvals, compliance documents, and related project correspondence.
- Check electrical works against applicable ADWEA and EWEC requirements where relevant to the project.
- Provide practical recommendations that improve electrical system safety, reliability, installation quality, and maintainability.
- Support timely project delivery by communicating critical inspection findings without unnecessary delay.
- Participate in site meetings and technical discussions when electrical quality, compliance, or construction sequencing requires coordination.
Candidates should have at least 6 years of hands‑on experience in electrical inspection and site supervision within construction, commercial development, or infrastructure projects. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, components, testing procedures, and construction quality requirements is essential. The role requires familiarity with Abu Dhabi and wider UAE electrical codes, safety regulations, and authority requirements. A valid electrical inspection license or professional certification recognized in the UAE is required.
