- Precisely measure, cut, and install gypsum boards for walls, ceilings, and partitions, ensuring accurate alignment and smooth finishes.
- Skillfully apply joint compound, tape, and finishes to create seamless surfaces, preparing them perfectly for painting or other treatments.
- Perform intricate framing and structural work using wood or metal studs to create the framework for gypsum installations.
- Expertly mix, apply, and repair plaster and stucco finishes, matching existing textures and ensuring durability.
- Apply primers, paints, and specialty coatings with precision, achieving consistent color, coverage, and a professional aesthetic.
- Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools common to carpentry, masonry, and painting, including saws, drills, sanders, and sprayers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to accurately plan and execute project requirements.
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify potential issues, material needs, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, other trades, and clients to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, adhering to all safety regulations and waste disposal procedures.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating foundational academic skills.
- Hold relevant vocational training certificates or apprenticeships in carpentry, masonry, or painting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience in gypsum board installation, finishing, and painting.
- Familiarity with various types of gypsum products, fasteners, and finishing compounds.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical drawings and architectural plans.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to work with potentially hazardous materials.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors and colleagues.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to project specifications.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and working at heights.
