Job description
Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Steel fixer Foreman to oversee the steel fixing operations at construction sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of steel fixers, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring that steel structures are installed correctly and according to specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers to establish steel fixing requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings to plan steel fixing activities.
- Lead and supervise a team of steel fixers on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all steel structures are installed correctly and securely.
- Inspect finished steel work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to coordinate steel fixing activities.
- Comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Proven experience as a steel fixer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of engineering and architectural drawings.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
- Physical strength and stamina for lifting and bending.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in setting up and installing steel reinforcing bars and mesh to reinforce concrete structures.
- Strong leadership and team management skills to oversee a team of steel fixers and coordinate tasks effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment on-site.
- Ability to use relevant tools and equipment for cutting, bending, and securing steel bars.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills to address any challenges or issues that may arise during the construction process.
- Time management skills to meet project deadlines and ensure work is completed efficiently.
