Manager, Technical Accounting

Overview

A Kforce client, located in Acton, MA is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance on complex accounting matters through detailed research, analysis, and documentation. This role plays a key part in shaping and maintaining the company's accounting policies, supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensuring alignment with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.

• Conduct technical accounting research and analysis on complex topics such as contract arrangements, investments, leases, software capitalization, and R&D activities
• Partner proactively with business and finance teams to understand evolving business activities and evaluate the appropriate accounting treatment for new or proposed transactions
• Prepare comprehensive technical accounting memoranda that clearly support conclusions and recommended treatments
• Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the company's accounting policies, ensuring consistent application and adherence
• Collaborate with external auditors and third parties on technical accounting matters, providing documentation and rationale as needed
• Assist in assessing and implementing new accounting standards across the organization
• Review contracts to identify accounting implications and ensure proper guidance is applied
• Perform internal control activities related to technical accounting processes
• Complete additional responsibilities and projects as assigned

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
• Active CPA license required
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Background in public accounting required
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Familiarity with accounting research platforms
• Proven ability to draft high quality technical accounting documentation
• Strong cross functional collaboration skills
• Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage processes and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
• IFRS experience preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
