ONYX CORPORATION, a family owned and operated company for 30+ years, is hiring for a full-time Construction Field Engineer to join our growing team. Onyx is an established and well-known staple in the surrounding communities that has gained our excellent reputation based solely on word of mouth and referrals from clients, architects, engineers and builders. Our work involves large scale public site work projects, high end residential landscape, and a sand & gravel operation.

FIELD

ENGINEER

The Field Engineer plays a critical role in supporting construction projects by providing technical guidance, coordinating on-site activities, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications. This position serves as the key liaison between project management, subcontractors, and on-site teams, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet quality standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities on-site.
  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor progress, track materials, and support scheduling to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Prepare daily reports, documentation, and progress updates for management.
  • Support problem-solving and provide technical recommendations for construction challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience in construction project management or field engineering is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and materials.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on-site, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
