Job Description

The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a Pre‑k to 12 district, is seeking an experienced special education teacher to serve in the Learning Centers. The Learning Center Teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support and co‑teach in the general education classroom combined with pull‑out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities and cover a range of disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support and co‑teach in the general education classroom.
  • Deliver pull‑out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Administer and interpret a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs (Department of Elementary & Secondary Education).
  • Experience/training in language‑based instruction for dyslexia, including Wilson, O‑G, Brain Frames, EmPOWER Writing, or similar.
  • Demonstrated success and knowledge of current research‑based interventions for children with disabilities.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans.
