Job DescriptionThe Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a Pre‑K to 12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education teacher to serve within the Learning Centers. The Learning Center Teacher works in a model of service delivery that includes academic support and co‑teaching in the general education classroom combined with pull‑out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities covering a range of disabilities.
Job Requirements- Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Experience or training in language‑based instruction/dyslexia (e.g., Wilson, O‑G, Brain Frames, EmPOWER Writing) highly desirable
- Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education
- Demonstrated success with and knowledge of current research‑based interventions for children with disabilities
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans
- Experience with administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Postgraduate Certificate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
