Special Education Assistant
The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work within the special education department at the R.J. Grey Junior High School. This assistant role will work with students with autism from our Connections and Pathways programs. Key duties and responsibilities include providing positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students, working with the lead teacher to provide academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support and intervention, working collaboratively with a team of general education and special education teachers and therapists, collecting data, and implementing taught strategies across environments to reinforce skills and promote carryover.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferred. Experience in public school setting. Experience working with young adults with disabilities. Able to take initiative and work independently. Knowledge of adolescent development.
