Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician

* Assembling instrumentation and data loggers
* Programming data loggers
* Field inspection of construction activities
* Field supervision of drill rigs including boring logs for geotechnical evaluation
* Installing instrumentation in the field
* Downloading and reducing field data
* Occasional climbing up to ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs to install or decommission instrumentation
* Operation of power tools and hand tools (hammer drill, Sawzall, wrenches, etc)
* Producing reports
* Configuration and presentation of data via Geocomp’s iSiteCentral web data management platform
* Data analysis and troubleshooting
* Coordinating and communicating with clients, subcontractors, and others
* 2-3 days of field work per week may be typically required in the summer months dependent on project demands.
* Other support activities, as needed
* BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Relevant educational or work experience in sensors, mechanical, geotechnical and/or structural engineering
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
* Must be able to work with teams and individuals of varying work styles
* Up to 25% average travel (domestic) may be required over the course of a year.
* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
* Ability to climb ladders and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
* Comfort working at heights (10+ feet) and in confined spaces
* Ability to work in field environments with exposure to construction equipment, noise, dust, temperature variations, and other site conditions
