* The Patient Services Representative takes care of the beginning and end of the appointment process for the patient. This position is vital to giving the patient the proper service and treatment they deserve as soon as they walk into our facility. In this role, the Patient Services Representative represents Acton Medical Associates, P.C. in a professional and courteous manner, greets the patient, verifies insurance, confirms patient demographics, accepts co-payments and makes follow-up appointments if necessary.
These are just some of the important responsibilities the Patient Services Representative has to ensure our patients enjoy the best healthcare experience possible. This position requires excellent communication, phone and computer skills and the ability to multi-task.

* Primary Responsibilities:

* + Works full time, on site, to support the needs of the department and of AMA-PC
+ Maintain a high level of professionalism and provide excellent patient servicing
+ Ensure that all necessary paperwork is ready for the day's appointments
+ Verify the patient's demographic information; check and scan insurance cards. Confirm that HIPAA information is filled out properly and up to date
+ Collect and correctly post co-payments to the patient's account. Balance deposit daily
+ Schedule urgent care/same day and future appointments according to the physician protocols
+ Check patient's insurance eligibility for all same day appointments prior to their arrival using the necessary web sites
+ Confirm all patient appointments according to the automated call report provided to each floor
+ Schedule appointments and enter referral requests from patient calls, the patient portal and faxes received from physician offices
+ Process referrals and obtain prior authorizations for MRIs and CT scans per insurance requirements
+ Comply with HIPAA & PHI (Protected Health Information) Regulations at all times
+ Other duties as assigned by the Patient Services Manager or Supervisor

* Required Qualifications:

* + High school education or general degree (GED) or 1+ years related experience in the medical field or equivalent of education and experience
+ Medical receptionist experience and/or background. Public contact experience may be substituted
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
