Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs across mid-sized engineering and manufacturing projects. This role partners closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet internal standards and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement in quality and cost.
Responsibilities- Evaluate product design reliability and overall quality; recommend process and design improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance manufacturability, reduce cost, and improve product performance.
- Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure product accuracy and compliance.
- Support functional testing and inspection activities for systems and equipment.
- Conduct internal audits and identify gaps in quality systems; help drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance.
- Create in-process inspection plans to ensure products meet customer requirements (Objective Quality Evidence).
- Review and approve manufacturing documentation, including build records and inspection reports.
- Generate and analyze quality data, including statistical reports and technical documentation.
- Support nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Assist with incoming inspection and final acceptance testing as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of quality and as-built documentation for each product.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members when needed.

- Experience with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Ability to analyze data and develop solutions to both routine and complex quality issues.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related role.
- Experience reviewing electrical and/or mechanical designs against quality standards.
- Background in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with standards such as AS9100, AS9102, IPC-A-610/620, or similar.
- Experience with advanced inspection techniques (e.g., optical inspections, coatings, or precision components).
- Knowledge of nonconformance and Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
- Experience reviewing test procedures and validating system requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Experience working in controlled environments such as clean rooms.
Ability to work extended hours as needed to support project demands. Must be able to comply with all applicable regulatory and safety requirements. Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance is a plus.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Acton, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
