Geocomp’s Geo Testing Express (GTX) is seeking a Rock Laboratory Technician to join our Soil and Rock Testing Laboratory in Acton, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to launch their career in geotechnical testing.

You will gain hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art automated testing equipment, advanced processes, and real‑world projects that support site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control, and performance assessment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock, and geosynthetics.
  • Collect, record, and report test data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with laboratory projects and daily operations as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
  • Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and process compliance.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Organized, adaptable, and willing to learn new laboratory techniques.
  • No prior laboratory experience required – full training will be provided.
  • Preferred:
    Coursework or exposure to earth sciences, geology, civil, or environmental engineering.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods at a lab bench or workstation.
  • Standard indoor laboratory setting.
