Traffic Attendant – Part‑time

The Town of Acton is seeking a part‑time non‑sworn Traffic Attendant with the Town of Acton Police Department. The position will work with the Police Department to ensure safety and services for the community in a traffic setting.

• Provide traffic control at locations where a Police Officer is not available.
• Perform all assigned duties efficiently, safely, and effectively.
• Assist the Chief of Police with traffic details, crowd control, and other duties as directed.
• Direct the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians during traffic events and emergencies.
• Support large‑scale events and emergency response as needed.
• Serve as a non‑contractual employee, not performing regular police patrols.

• High‑School diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship by birth or naturalization.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and flagger certifications.

• Required to work on the Fourth of July if an event is scheduled.
• Must work twice per month during the period from April through December, subject to traffic detail availability.
• Schedule may include weekends and special events; preference for candidates available Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
