The Role
The Operations Specialist is responsible for how vehicles move through the Garage 42 ecosystem — from transport and storage to service and presentation. This role is the backbone of our transportation, logistics, and day‑to‑day vehicle operations.
You will ensure that every vehicle is moved, handled, stored, and serviced with precision, professionalism, and care, while serving as a key point of communication between our members, the General Manager, and the Detailing Department. Candidates will be considered for either an L1 (entry‑level) or L2 (experienced) Operations Specialist position based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Transportation & Vehicle Logistics
- Operate Garage 42’s enclosed flatbed tow truck for client pickups, deliveries, dealer transfers, and event transport
- Perform and document daily safety checks and scheduled maintenance on our vehicles and transport equipment
- Safely load, secure, and unload high‑value, low‑clearance, and specialty vehicles
- Conduct pre‑and post‑transport inspections and condition reports per Garage 42 SOPs
- Drive customer vehicles to and from local service partners as needed
- Provide emergency after‑hours and weekend transport support on occasion
- Maintain transport logs, vehicle movement records, and incident‑free execution
- Vehicle Service, Operations, and Facility Support
- Coordinate and perform routine maintenance and light mechanical work, including fluid services, brakes, diagnostics, and inspections
- Install and balance tires and swap wheels on customer vehicles
- Prepare vehicles for service, storage, events, and delivery
- Ensure vehicles are properly staged, protected, and documented at all times
- Maintain strict adherence to Garage 42 storage, handling, and safety standards
- Help perform facility maintenance tasks on equipment, general cleaning, and facility repairs
- Member Experience

- Communicate clearly and proactively with members regarding transport, timelines, and vehicle status
- Maintain consistent, reliable communication with the General Manager and Detailing Department
- Represent Garage 42 professionally on‑site, off‑site, and at events
- Assist with on and off site event operations
- Bring a positive, calm, and solutions‑focused presence into the facility every day
- Someone with experience in vehicle transport, detailing, dealership operations, or logistics who wants more variety and responsibility

Skills & Qualifications
- 2‑5 years' experience working with exotic, luxury, classic, and high‑value vehicles
- Experience professionally or personally operating an enclosed flatbed tow truck or truck and trailer (CDL not required)
- Demonstrate ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks (oil changes, brake bleeds, etc.) – Advanced experience is a plus
- Experience mounting and balancing low profile tires on high value wheels
- High level of confidence handling vehicles of significant value
- Strong computer aptitude and excellent organizational, documentation, and follow‑through skills
- Ability to manage a quick changing schedules and competing priorities
- Calm, professional, and composed under pressure
- Flawless time management skills always arriving early
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Clean, organized, and detail‑oriented
- Ability to work after‑hours or weekend when required to support event operations
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with service invoicing, estimates, or Shopmonkey Software
- ASE Certification
- Vehicle detailing experience
- Transport and vehicle movements executed with zero incidents
- Vehicles always staged, stored, and delivered to standard
