Assistant Principal - Ford Middle School

Assists school principal in the administration of the school as well as staff hiring.
Provides special attention to the attendance of students and carries out school district policies and procedures related to attendance.
Assumes responsibility for implementing discipline procedures as stated in the student handbook.
Provides teacher support in curriculum, instruction, management, and other areas of teacher competency.
Assists teachers with technology in the course of their assigned duties.
Provides such reports, records, schedules, and other management functions as assigned.
Assists the principal in the supervision and evaluation of teachers and all support staff.
Assists in the supervision of all school activities and events.
Assists in the coordination and development of the curriculum.
Develops and maintains positive communication with the community.
Meets with principal and staff to identify priorities, plan programs, and discuss progress of assigned curriculum responsibilities.
Organizes and directs cafeteria supervision during lunch periods and recess.
Assists in the promotion of an effective school environment by being a liaison between staff and administration.
Assists in creating and implementing safety and crisis response plans as well as all safety drills.
Works with the principal in developing a building budget.
Works with the principal in developing a school improvement plan.
Participates in planning and structuring activities to assist the principal and teachers in the implementation of curriculum projects.
Assumes responsibility for the elementary school in the absence of the principal and covers the middle school when required to do so by the superintendent of schools.
Supports substitute teachers in carrying out their duties.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the principal or the superintendent.
