Para Planner – Advisor Track Our client is a growing independent advisory practice in the Acushnet / New Bedford, MA area that is looking for a licensed Para Planner who is serious about becoming a Financial Advisor.
This is not a “forever support” role. This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with the lead advisor, learn the full client process, build real financial plans, sit in on client and prospect meetings, and develop into an advisor role over time. - You will not be hidden behind the scenes. From day one, you will work side-by-side with the lead advisor, participate in client and prospect meetings, help build retirement plans, and learn how to move clients from initial conversation through implementation and ongoing review.

- In this role, you will support the lead advisor and planning team throughout the full client process.
Responsibilities include: - Preparing for upcoming client and prospect meetings by reviewing calendars, messages, documents, and case details.
- Gathering and organizing client documents, including tax returns, statements, pay stubs, and other financial information.
- Entering and updating client data in CRM and planning systems.
- Helping build retirement plans, financial planning scenarios, and client presentations.
- Reviewing planning work with the advisor before client meetings.
- Sitting in on discovery, evaluation, strategy, and review meetings.
- Taking detailed meeting notes and tracking follow-up items.
- Preparing case packets, review materials, and client-facing documents.
- Helping move clients from prospect to implementation to ongoing service.
- Working closely with client service, administrative, and operations team members to keep tasks organized and on track.
- Learning the firm’s full planning and advisory process with the goal of eventually leading portions of meetings and owning client relationships.
- In the first 30 to 60 days, you will be focused on learning the firm’s systems, process, planning approach, and client experience. You will shadow the lead advisor, assist with case prep, gather documents, enter data, and begin taking ownership of follow-up items.
- By 90 days and beyond, the goal is for you to independently manage much of the case preparation and plan-building process, bring organized and accurate work to the advisor, and begin demonstrating the communication, judgment, and confidence needed to move toward an advisor role.
- Over time, this position is intended to grow into a true advisory opportunity.
- Series 65 license required, or equivalent licensing that allows investment advisory work.
- Experience as a Para Planner, Associate Planner, Client Service Associate, Junior Advisor, Associate Advisor, or similar role in a planning-driven advisory firm.
- Strong interest in becoming a Financial Advisor.
- Comfort working with financial planning software, CRM systems, and client data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, empathetic, and client-first communication style.
- Willingness to receive feedback, learn quickly, and grow within a small team.
- Ability to work in-office in the Acushnet / New Bedford, MA area.
