Staff Accountant

River Stone Church exists to fulfill its mission of healing hearts, equipping people, and transforming the community.

The Staff Accountant is a part-time (20 hrs per week), hybrid role located in Kennesaw, GA. This role is responsible for supporting the church's financial operations with accuracy and confidentiality. This role manages day-to-day accounting and financial record keeping, including accounts payable, reconciliations, giving and deposit records, donor designations, payroll support, and month-end close. This role also maintains Quick Books and related financial systems, ensures accurate coding and documentation, prepares financial reports, and supports year-end reporting and tax needs.

The Staff Accountant also collaborates with ministry and operations staff to provide clear financial information that supports decision-making and stewardship.

Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other applicable field strongly preferred; 3-5 years demonstrated accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a church or other non-profit environment Foundational knowledge accounting and bookkeeping practices

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the vision, mission, values, and Statement of Faith of River Stone Proficiency with Quick Books Online Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) Good teamwork/collaboration skills Detail and process oriented Great computer skills Excellent understanding of accounting principles and ethics Ability to multitask Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal skills
